Boldly goes where no pen has gone before... Mar 13, 2010 This is one awesome little pen!
(The following review is for the CHROME Fisher Bullet Space Pen WITHOUT the clip)
A lot has already been written about the Fisher Space Pen & I hope this is not redundant. But here goes...
I love this pen for several reasons...
IT'S SMALL. Small enough to stash away in the front zippered compartment of my cellphone case. My phone goes everywhere I go, so my pen comes along for the ride ensuring that I always have a pen on me no matter what.
IT'S COOL! The Fisher Space Pen is not just a pen. It's a novelty item. It's sleek & simple in design; a real eye catcher & it's like owning a small piece of NASA history. I purchased the chrome one, which in my opinion looks the most "futuristic". The chrome finish does not smudge or leave fingerprints, so it retains its nice silver luster. Also, the bullet pen feels nice in your hand.
IT WRITES WELL. I have not tested this pen underwater or in zero gravity, but for everyday use, it's a pretty good pen. It definitely writes upside down without fail. If you're looking for the finest writing instrument in the world, then this pen may not be for you. The main thing is that it writes fine & it's totally reliable. No shaking the pen or scribbling on a piece of paper first to get the ink flowing.
I highly recommend the chrome Fisher Space Pen. It's fun, it's cool and oh yes... it writes!!
p.s. I also purchased the Black titanium nitride bullet pen. I DO NOT recommend it. See my review for the BTN space pen.
Small Pen Big Writing Ability Feb 19, 2010 As I write this review, I wonder where my pen is....It's small and I know it's somewhere...just not where it should be....in my pocket.
When I have been able to hold onto it, and hold it, it is rather small, it's delivered some great script. This is, if i can find it, going with me on my next vacation.
The best pen I have ever owned! Jan 07, 2010 For a designer like I am, I love this light, metalic pen that allows me to write on any surface at any angle!!! I own 3 of them, and I am looking to buy more!
Good pen, Easy to loose Jan 01, 2010 I must have lost twenty or more of these pens over the years. As a writing insterment it works well for what is is designed for, something small to keep in your pants pocket. But the design makes it easy to slip out of your pocket when seated. I have found that the ones with the clip and matte finish seem not to be as slick as the chrome ones and I tend to keep them longer. The matte finish does wear to a nice brassing like a old SLR camera, which I like. I keep waiting for my last pen to turn up since I find [...] shipping for something I loose every 6 months a little steep.
smooth writing pen Dec 21, 2009 Writes well.
Very compact.
The clip does move around too easily, and it can be difficult to pull the pen apart.
The chrome gets dinged up easily if dropped.
Overall, great pen for the price, and great for travel
